CareerConnect is the Commonwealth of Virginia's electronic one-stop workforce development system. CareerConnect had been developed by the Virginia Employment Commission, and local Workforce Investment Boards as a result of a three-year grant Virginia received from the U.S. Department of Labor. The customer service network is designed to assist workers, students. individuals seeking employment and employers with an abundance of educational, employment and career-related information.
Information is available for onsite use on many topics of interest to job seekers. There are numerous resources on career planning, job search techniques and interviewing. Information is also available for hiring state agencies on recruitment, management, coaching and employment retention.
The YMCA of Greater Richmond, a nonprofit charitable organization, operates 14 branch locations throughout the metro Richmond and Petersburg areas, serving over 125,000 people each year. Program and service offerings include wellness, childcare, aquatics, and youth sports and camping, to name a few.
